Jsyk, the title of this post are in no way related. I didn't go to Vegas to do a book report. For a few weeks life was a little crazier than normal for me and a friend of mine. I had had a few doctor appointments and Jamie had been dealing with a few of her own things. Both of us were at a serious breaking point. After talking to Danny and Josh we decided we would go to Vegas for a girls weekend. We booked a room Monday night and left Friday morning. One of my favorite things happened Monday night at FHE. All eight children needed to be told the mommies were leaving. During FHE Josh and Danny told them how much the mommies do to help our families and even when get relaxing time we still have things we have to do and that we deserved real relaxing time. They then told them the plan for the weekend. It was so sweet. Jamie and I left with no real plan in mind, just to enjoy the weekend. When we got there we checked into our room and went to sleep. I don't even know what time we got up an went to dinner (We happened to find a sushi bar that was open 24 hours). While we were there we slept, shopped, walked the strip, ate when and if we wanted, and saw the Cirque show Mystere. It was a fab weekend. I'm so blessed to have a hubby that lets me be me, who takes care of me and wants me to be happy. I'm also blessed to have my SFEBFF to help me get through life. It was an incredibly fun and relaxing weekend. I'm thinking girls weekend needs to be a yearly event. If I thought it could happen every six months I totally would push for that!
Each book report Carter has had to do this year has been different. Like last month it was a book report in a bag. This month it was to turn part of the book into a game. Carter read "Diary of a Wimmpy Kid". Carter absolutely loved reading this book. I loved when he would come up to me and read a part that he loved. He laughed so much as he read it, it made me laugh too! Carter came up with the idea to turn the haunted house part of the book into a his book report. He and Jamie came up with the layout and Carter and I came up with the game pieces. It was fun to help him and watch his idea come to reality. He said his class and teacher loved it, but more importantly to me, Carter loved it and it turned out the way he wanted!
Just one more book report for the year.....
