New Callings

This has been quite the eventful weekend for Danny and I. Not only was it "Love Day", which I love, Danny and I received new callings in our ward. A few weeks ago Danny was called into the stake pres. office and extended the calling of Elders Quorum President and yesterday he was sustained. He is really nervous. I think he just wants to throw up. While Danny was in Denver last week I got a phone call for an appointment w/the bishop. I knew it wasn't for Danny since he was already extended a new calling. I went into panic mode, thinking it could only be for me. I've only been in YW since September and was really sad at the thought of being released. We met with the bishop Saturday morning at 8:10 am (a bit early for me). The bishop told us that the stake pres, under the direction of the area pres, has asked the bishops in our stake to call 15 people from each ward as temple patrons, and he wanted Danny and I to be part of the 15 from our ward. We said yes without even thinking. What a cool opportunity this will be for us. We have to go to the temple 4 times a month and then report back to the bishop at the end of the month. It's really easy for Danny and I to go out on "dates", we go out several times a month. We always struggle to find the time to go to the temple. Where we live there are 4 temples within a 20-30 minute drive. How pathetic is it that we can't get there at least once a month. In conversation we always say that we are going to do better and we promise that 1 of our dates each month will be going to the temple. I guess Heavenly Father found a way for us to get there. Both of us are really excited for this opportunity. I was talking to a really good friend about this and she mentioned how cool it will be to be in the temple once a week, to be able to recenter yourself and bring it all back to what really matters. I'm really thankful to my Father in Heaven for putting such great people in my life to help me see things for what they truly are. I'm sure that with 4 callings between the 2 of us we may have some difficult moments, but I know that we will be blessed for doing what we've been asked to. We were sustained on Sunday and are anxious to get to work.
